WIKO rarely sets out to draw something specific — the image usually finds him first. Some pieces arrive fully formed and he works backward from there; others emerge from something close to a trance, drawn without watching himself do it, the shape only becoming clear once the canvas is finished.
It is proof that someone was actually there, feeling something, when it got made. Drawing without a map, letting the image surface before looking for the concept — because no wall text should ever do the work the artwork itself is meant to do.
An art that refuses to resolve completely
Working from mental collage, raw instinct, and an unresolved kind of spirituality. Moving through reality not as a statement, but as a presence bearing witness to what survives.
Exhibition
After painting lost its monopoly on inventiveness, it developed the ability to create total objects with unique properties. The space of the canvas has the capacity to expand faster than the Universe.
